Just Like Hell

Not again! I have been living my whole life thinking the Cure's "Just Like Heaven" lyrics were..

Show me how you do that trick
The one that makes me scream "she's sick"

Like how cool is that? I want to know this crazy bitch that does nasty tricks. Actually I want to BE that chick. I want my boyfriend to scream with delight that I am fucking sick. That would be great.

Instead this is what they actually say:

"Show me how you do that trick
The one that makes me scream" she said
"The one that makes me laugh" she said
And threw her arms around my neck

I don't want to be that chick. There is nothing nasty, sick or enviable about it. I'm done. Don't ever let me Google lyrics again.

Red Lust, Pt. II

I noticed I was wearing a few of the products from my Red Lust post and so I snapped a couple pictures after work today. I've never really bothered with lip liner or brushes but the close up of my lips kind of shamed me. lol! Maybe I'll try to put some effort into my lipstick application next time? Maybe...
I'm wearing Rimmel Lasting Finish lipstick by Kate Moss in Kiss of Life, Josie Maran Coconut Cheek Gelee in Getaway Red (faded after a full day of work) and OPI Quarter of a Cent Cherry.

Red Lust

OPI Quarter Of A Cent Cherry, Josie Maran Coconut Cheek Gelee in Getaway Red, Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick By Kate in Kiss of Life, Boots No7 Poppy King Lip Gloss in One History

I've been surrounding myself with red beauty products lately. I'm trying to make some changes in my life and I suppose the red is energizing? I facilitated this bonding exercise at a work meeting the other day and I was surprised by my answers. Basically we took a stack of picture cards and spread them out on a table. The cards depicted everything from a group of children talking to a Thanksgiving feast. We picked three cards...

Lay Across My Big Brass Bed

Caudalie Eau De Beauté, Marvis Jasmine Mint Toothpaste, Trader Joe's Organic Raw Honey, Nuxe Reve De Miel

I'm sick! I feel like all of my vacation time has been spent on sick days this year. What a drag. Oh well, I guess. At least I get to be home snuggled in my bed listening to Bob Dylan and Elliott Smith and eating all the Luden's I want.

I convinced myself to take a shower last night (worth the effort) and decided to pamper myself a little. My skin gets really congested and dull when I'm sick and that's where organic raw honey comes in. I dry my face off a little while I'm in the shower and then slather this all over my face and neck. I let it sit for the rest of my shower (about 10 minutes) and then rinse it off with water. It rinses off clean and helps with inflamed acne without overdrying. I really recommend this.

I know I'm kinda bouji but I also love using Marvis' Jasmine Mint Toothpaste when I'm sick. I become sensitive to taste and I like that the flavor is mild and there are no flavor crystals to burn my mouth. Just a preference. After I get out of the shower I spritz the Caudalie Eau De Beauté all over my face and then fan my face with a fancy $1 fan. This "beauty elixir" helps with radiance and soothing breakouts. Nuxe Reve De Miel is my last step before crawling into bed. I love this product! If you are looking for the luxe version of Burt's Bees original lip balm then this is for you! Can you tell I'm excited about this? It's a rich and nourishing honey lip balm that is matte and beautiful on the lips. So perfect!

We Can Take Forever Just A Minute At A Time

It's a 70's lite rock type of night. I'm a little bit miserable right now but I'm trying to just keep it mellow. Chronic back pain is tiring. Sephora and Ulta are fun:

REN Glycolactic Radiance Mask, L'Oreal Tangerine Crush, Pacifica Mediterranean Fig
Revlon Smitten, Boscia Oil-Free SPF 15

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain - Smitten

Reveling in Revlon

Love That Pink
I love how creamy the Moondrops range is and this shade is no exception. I would classify it as a bright Barbie pink creme - it's not quite neon but it is hella bright. Perfect if you're looking for a pink without shimmer/frost.

Haute Berry
A mid-tone purple berry creme that's great for the summer/fall transition. Sometimes it looks bright on me... sometimes it doesn't. All I can say is that you'll probably love it if you go for lavender tones.

Hot Coral
Fucking perfect! I love this shade. Pretty much like the name says, it's a florescent orange/coral creme. Its modern and flattering. I've picked up a few orange lipsticks from the drugstore and this is by far my favorite.

I'm on a big lipstick kick right now. I'm experimenting with long wear formulas and I'm looking to purchase a few wine/berry/vampy shades for fall. It's too hot in California right now though, so coral it is.

I Get By With A Little Help From My Friends

Fuck man, it's hard getting a good shot of nail polish! Whatever though because this is such a beautiful shade. I picked up Revlon's "Royal" about a month ago, and I've even worn it a couple times, but this is the first week I've loved it. There's just something about its vibrancy and depth that makes it look modern. Some girl in class even said she kept getting distracted by how gorgeous it is. Ayo!

Birthday Girl

It was my birthday on Sunday! I had such a lovely day, well, weekend. I spent most of it just hanging with my boo. I woke up to red roses and a grande chai. Aw.

Spring Time Face

I'm so excited about the CoverGirl Tropical Fusion Quad I bought tonight. I don't want to spend a lot of money on the "watercolor shadow" trend but I still want to hop on that train and for $5 I can. The pigmentation is good and the texture is okay. I tried out two looks (a dark blue with purple and a peach lid/aqua bottom liner combo) and I'm pretty stoked with the outcome. Make sure to skip the dark eyeliner to keep it looking fresh!

October

I'm all about chai lattes and Pantene Pro-V Restorative Frizz Control right now. God I love October.

Style Black

I am so in love with the MAC "Style Black" make up collection that I even purchased some of the line's skincare. So far all I can say is that this thermal heating mask really does heat up and it is a complete pain to take off.
